I'm very excited to be able to announce my involvement in the Sensoria festival which takes place from 26th to 29th of September at various venues across Sheffield.
Specifically, I have created the animation for The Boy Who Turned Yellow, a cautionary tale that forms part of the Now Will You Listen shows. Here's the blurb about Now Will You Listen... Musician/writer Mick Somerset Ward and Dean and Jarrod of I Monster have worked to create an illustrated audio visual book of short horror stories and surreal poetry. Narrated by prominent names from music and film and soundtracked by a variety of accompaniments from electronics to woodwind, they beckon the listener to follow them into the Gothic and the absurd. Guest narrators on the day include Michael Fielding (The Mighty Boosh), actress Julie Stewart (Coronation Street, It’s a Free World) and Gavin Friday. This live performance takes place in the intimate, atmospheric setting of the Lantern Theatre. The setting echoes the old BBC story-telling series Jackanory or rather, a Jackanory broadcast from a parallel planet where things aren’t always quite what they seem. There will be live music, featuring renowned drummer and percussionist Charlie Collins, and live narration, plus animation and visuals creatively directed by Playdead.tv accompanying the tracks.
